Leonard carries Raptors over 76ers in Game 4

Kawhi Leonard #2 of the Toronto Raptors looks on during a game against the Philadelphia 76ers during Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 5, 2019 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading and/or using this Photograph, user is consenting to the terms and conditions of the Getty Images License Agreement. That and timely, expert shot-making from J.J. Redick can't erase a 7-of-23 dud from Tobias Harris, 11 points from Joel Embiid and 10 from Simmons. Siakam, who was called for a flagrant foul on the play, left the game and did not return. Philly's strategy of letting Siakam shoot his 3s open from the top is also working as Siakam is a poor 3 point shooter from anywhere but the corner and he keeps shooting and missing from the top of the arc, where he is averaging close to the 20% mark for the series.

Sure, Philly had the momentum, the home court, and nearly universal support from the media, but apparently, no one told that to Kawhi Leonard and company, as the Raptors regrouped, reloaded, and returned to the Wells Fargo Center committed to evening the series out at 2-all before it returns North of the border.

Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka had been a terrible 4-for-22 combined in Game 3. "That's how we're gonna win this game". He didn't hit his first shot until there was 8:01 remaining in the first half and missed five of his seven field goals for the game, including three free throws in the fourth quarter. After today's performance, Nurse says we will likely see more of the veteran duo as the series heads back to Toronto.

Kawhi Leonard leads all players on the court in scoring with a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double so far.

Marc Gasol scored 16, Kyle Lowry had 14 and the Raptors rebounded after consecutive losses to reclaim home-court advantage. His size appeared to bother Leonard here and there as the Raptors' star turned it over seven times.

"He's doing a great job", Leonard said.

"I think that's not fair to the Sixers", he said.

"I want Ben to be aggressive just like I want Jo (Embiid) to be aggressive", said Butler. "Embiid is a good defender, long".

Leonard said that upon release of the ball, he wanted to ensure the shot didn't fall short, remembering some unsuccessful attempts that did. "So just remembering moments like that and practicing and telling myself try and get it to the back rim".

The Raptors were constructed for big games like this, they played an entire season that built toward high-stakes playoff contests, but trying to win basketball games while missing so many open shots is like trying to pick up water with your fingers. The big man battled a virus and didn't sleep the night before the game. "That's what he does for a living".
