Solskjaer: We don't want to become like Liverpool

"It is hard to win the league here".

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took a cheeky dig at rivals Liverpool ahead of Sunday's clash at Old Trafford by warning Manchester United can not be allowed to go as long without winning a league title.

Owen was a pundit for Optus Sport when, at half-time, he said he would have told Liverpool's players to "kick Rashford on the ankle" if he was Klopp.

Taking an attacking outlook, the Reds looked to push United back whenever possible, with Milner particularly high up the pitch as he doubled up on Luke Shaw with Mohamed Salah.

Clearly recognising that he had upset Klopp, Henderson returned to the sideline seconds later and attempted to make amends but the German made his anger known.

Up against Mohamed Salah, United supporters would have had every reason to be a little anxious, but Luke Shaw produced an exceptional defensive display against him.

Last time out the Reds came away from the derby with a massive three points thanks to a super-sub appearance from Xherdan Shaqiri and an early Sadio Mané strike.

Liverpool need at least a point to stay ahead of Manchester City, and a loss will mean they'll remain second as City's goal difference is too big.

There's been a lot of "north west derbies" over the years that have had an impact on the Premier League title race but not many of them have been as important to Liverpool as the one on Sunday.

"We might feel like we won a point or lost two".

Manchester United have some really serious injury concerns going into this game and perhaps the biggest worry is with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.

- Lingard became the first player to be substituted on and then off in the first half of a Premier League match since Kevin Long for Burnley against Newcastle United in January 2015.
