The most memorable moments from the Golden Globes

I know everything that everyone says about awards shows (especially #goldenglobes!) But that was a moment of unforced joy and excitement that made me feel good & made me a bit teary. "This is for and because of you".

Instead, the night's final two awards went to Bohemian Rhapsody - the popular but poorly reviewed drama about Queen's frontman, a movie that wrapped after jettisoning its director, Bryan Singer - and best actor-winner Rami Malek for his full-bodied, prosthetic teeth-aided performance as Mercury.

This marks Oh's first Best Performance award, but is her second Golden Globes win overall. Lady Gaga wore an ice blue dress with a train so magnificent people had to walk behind her and carry it. Lili Reinhart made her Golden Globes debut in a fluffy red ball gown and matching red eyeshadow-an incredibly bold choice, but one that certainly paid off.

In a mild surprise, best comedy series went to Netflix's "The Kominsky Method", starring Michael Douglas as an aging thespian who runs a prestigious acting class. Douglas also won the award for best actor in a TV comedy.

Sunday's awards were spread far and wide, with few movies or TV series winning a couple of times. It lived up to this reputation, with hosts Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg addressing the audience and often getting responses back.

"I said yes to the fear of being on this stage tonight because I wanted to be here to look out into this audience and witness this moment of change", she said to great applause.

Hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh, the 76th annual Golden Globes had its fair share of standout moments (although some might argue that a year ago was more interesting).

Best director: Alfonso Cuaron, "Roma".

The Globes, which got underway at 5:00 pm (0100 GMT Monday), is the only awards show where alcohol is served, usually ensuring a more colourful affair than showbiz's other big nights. I have to thank (producers) Graham King and Denis O'Sullivan, you've worked over a decade to make sure this story was told. " for starring in "Aloha" after Sandra Oh called her out for whitewashing:3".

Christian Bale, who plays former U.S. vice president Dick Cheney in Vice, won best comedy/musical lead actor ahead of Green Book's Viggo Mortensen. And let's not forget that there's not a lot of overlap between the two voting bodies of these awards - and as the Academy becomes more diverse, so do the films it champions.
