Pogba enjoying "different style" after Mourinho exit

Since Manchester United parted ways with Jose Mourinho and handed the manager's role to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis, the results on the field have been drastic, with three wins from three matches.

"He was always quietly confident, believed in his own ability and even though people think he's a nice guy, he's got an edge to him", the Welshman told MUTV after Solskjaer's United beat Huddersfield 3-1 on Boxing Day.

Paul Pogba is feeling so good at Manchester United these days that he's practicing his goal celebrations during the pre-game warmup.

Pogba said: "We are Manchester United and we need to be at the top of the league, it is just a reaction of all of the players and everyone is enjoying themselves".

They have scored 12 goals in that stretch - having averaged less than two per game under Mourinho - with Pogba netting two for the second game in a row. We still won some games with the old manager, but it's just a different style of play, more offensive, I would say, so we create more chances.

STAR MAN - It's no surprise that Paul Pogba was United's standout player on Sunday.

He's bringing that attacking, quick play back to Old Trafford.

"You've got good players, good people, they want to learn, improve". But witnessing the transformation in body language, risk taking, and attacking energy from the talented players on show in the last two games suggests that the new manager has given his team the freedom to go and play in the "The Manchester United Way".

However, in stark contrast to the final days of Mourinho's tenure, it seemed only a matter of time before United struck again and once more it was Pogba who provided the finish with a bullet header from Ander Herrera's cross.

Solskjaer was full of appreciation for Pogba's performance whilst offering a hint of what he doesn't want to see from the former Juventus midfielder.

And Matic began the move for United's third when he picked out Anthony Martial's run and the Frenchman's cross with the outside of his boot was turned home by Rashford.

Lukaku needed just two minutes to get his name on the scoresheet as the Belgium worldwide turned the ball past Begovic following another excellent Pogba pass.

Pogba then came inches away from completing a first hat trick at United when Begovic tipped his low strike against the post in the 77th.

Eric Bailly made an excellent block to prevent King from scoring a second for Bournemouth 20 minutes from time and moments later, Lukaku made his return to the team as he took the place of Rashford, who suffered a slight groin strain.
