Bears, Cowboys and Saints take home wins on Thanksgiving Day

The Bears have listed quarterback Mitch Trubisky as doubtful for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions.

Washington is 6-4 and leads the NFC East but travels to Dallas without Alex Smith, who suffered a season-ending injury on Sunday. Head coach Matt Nagy is "cautiously optimistic" Trubisky will be able to play on Thursday but do not expect him to practice all week. "I've said this before, he's a very smart player, very visual, sees things well so he can anticipate and get breaks, very rarely does he make mistakes".

Trubisky's injury situation has been compounded by the team's short week. Bears could activate QB Tyler Bray today to backup Daniel, with possibility that Trubisky now will not dress... But after Miami got out to a 3-0 start, the quarterback struggled in the next two games, throwing for only 285 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in the two losses. "If Thursday's game were Sunday, the Bears believe Trubisky could play and they believe he'll be ready a week from Sunday against the NY Giants", Schefter tweeted. "I think they have two really good linebackers and their secondary is playing great, too".

Daniel hasn't thrown a regular-season pass since 2016.

Daniel has made two career starts and has just one touchdown pass in his career that dates back to 2010. Originally, the Bears-Vikings game was supposed to be played on Sunday at 1 p.m., and the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers were set to face off in the primetime evening spot. But he has extensive knowledge of the offensive system after being in it from 2013-15 while Nagy was quarterbacks coach with Kansas City. When you have a different player that's in and in the same position, it doesn't mean that they can do the same thing.

Trubisky was 23 of 30 passing for a career-high 355 yards with three touchdown passes in a 34-22 victory over Detroit on November 11, ending a three-game losing streak versus the Lions.

"Everyone in this locker room knew what he was going to do, and he didn't let us down", Mizzell said.
