IPhone XR first look: So awesome we’re giving it away!

The iPhone XR is still one of Apple's major phones, but given the iPhone Xs and Xs Max have already launched, Apple's most intense fervour was saved for those phones at the launch last month, which you can see here in full.

Apple's massive adoption of its phones, increasing features and software updates means that there's more potential than ever that something won't quite go smoothly when a new iPhone launches.

While the screen might appear to be the same, the XR's 6.1-inch display is LCD, not OLED as with the XS and XS Max.

iPhone XR will be available starting 6:00 pm across Apple's authorised resellers including Unicorn, Ingram and Reddington. While the iPhone XS starts at $999 in the U.S., the iPhone XR starts at $749, making it not only affordable but also in the same ballpark as those upgrade from a year or two old model. The 128GB variant will cost Rs 81,900 in India. The iPhone XR comes in multiple colour options: white, black, blue, yellow, coral and Product (RED). And for the first time in years, I know exactly what phone I would buy - and what phone you should buy: the iPhone XR. The customers can purchase the smartphone online from Amazon, Paytm Mall, Flipkart and Airtel store, whereas the device will be available offline on authorised stores. PayTM Mall is offering Rs 7,000 exchange bonus over and above regular exchange. Additionally, users are eligible to get up to ₹2000 back on MakeMyTrip, Swiggy, Freshmenu, and EazyDiner. The display has an 828 x 1792 pixels resolution with a pixel density of 326 Pixels Per Inch.

And yet, to the casual observer, the device also looks a heck of a lot like the undeniably expensive iPhone XS, which starts at $1,629.

IHS Markit principal analyst of mobile devices and networks Wayne Lam recently published a report about the significance behind the iPhone XR. And oh yes, there is support for wireless charging in there too.

Mashable, for example, called the iPhone XR the "Goldilocks of iPhones" with its large screen size, affordable price tag, "fantastic" cameras, and future-proof power in the form of the A12 Bionic chip.

Today's premium phones generally create Portrait Mode photos by using a close-up and wide-angle camera in unison.
