Reshoots started this last month for Avengers 4 to capture new footage, but also to finalize the potential ending for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, Chris Evans has taken to his official Twitter account to announce that he has wrapped on Avengers 4 and his message certainly sounds as though he's bidding farewell to the role, which has fans anxious that the rematch between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Thanos will conclude with Captain America's death.

Both Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet were damaged at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, and now a new "leak" has provided fans with their first look at the weapon the Mad Titan will be wielding in Avengers 4.

"We're going to finish the movie, which we really didn't get to finish totally when we left it past year". "It was an emotional day to say the least". While reflecting on his eight-year run as The First Avenger, Evans thanked co-workers and fans for all the memories, signing off with "Eternally grateful".

After almost a decade of bringing Captain America to life on the big screen Chris Evans tweets out a heart breaking response to the wrapping up of Avengers 4: "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4". Since then he has gone on to appear in five movies as Cap.

The 37-year-old actor - who starred as Steve Rogers and his crime fighting alter-ego in the Marvel ensemble movie franchise - took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal the fourth and last of the series has officially wrapped filming. Which we don't even know what it's gonna be yet.

Avengers 4 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3rd.
