Cosby accusers say they hope he is sentenced to jail time

If he must serve time, he could be taken into custody immediately.

The judge set to sentence actor Bill Cosby on sex assault charges is limiting the number of other accusers who can testify next week.

Constand, who had gotten to know Cosby when she was managing the women's basketball team at Temple University, testified that the TV star gave her three blue pills, which caused her to pass out.

"He doesn't have a plane, you asshole!" yelled Cosby in his first public outburst and loss of control after chief prosecutor Kevin Steele claimed he could flee anywhere in the world by private jet.

The stunning outburst marked a stark contrast from Cosby's relatively quiet public profile in recent years. However, he was released on $1 million bail with strict conditions that he remains at home till his sentencing.

Defense attorneys are likely to point to Cosby's age, declining health, history of philanthropic giving and the fact that this is his first criminal conviction as factors that show he should receive a short prison sentence - or none at all.

Cosby, who has been under house arrest since his conviction, will also be offered the chance to make a statement before Judge Steven O'Neill hands him his sentence. In Cosby's case, he was only convicted after a jury heard from several women, rather than only one, underscoring the challenges sole accusers can face.

He has been ordered to stay at his Philly home while awaiting sentencing and only leave to see a doctor or his lawyers as the case proceeded against him.

Janice Dickinson - who did testify as a prior bad act witness at trial - is also in court this morning.

"Mr Cosby should not be treated differently because he is a celebrity", she said.

No matter Cosby's sentence, the guilty verdicts already have triggered an outpouring of emotion from his victims.

Lublin said she thinks "it's important that he spend some time behind bars". "I feel like my faith in humanity is restored". "Judge O'Neill agreed, writing in his order that in an "exhaustive review" of state case law he found nothing allowing him to consider 'uncharged conduct" at the sentencing".
