Hollywood Actor Burt Reynolds Dies At 84

Burt Reynolds died Thursday morning of a heart attack at a hospital in Florida, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He was among family when he passed away.

The actor had suffered with heart problems for years and underwent heart surgery in February 2010. The movie won Reynolds a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Burt Reynolds, a top Hollywood star of the 1970s whose hits ranged from such classic, easy-going drive-in fare as Smokey and the Bandit and to the intense hunted-men drama Deliverance, died today at the Jupiter Medical Center in Florida. The Institute, which recently moved into its new home in North Palm Beach, offers classes in acting, improvisation, stage and screen writing and film-making as well as lectures by experts in the film industry.

In the early 1970s, Reynolds was a veteran of TV and film who spurred the curiosity of Hollywood producers through his amusing appearances on latenight talkshows, as well as the hyped publicity stunt of appearing as the first celebrity male-nude centerfold in a 1972 issue of Cosmopolitan. When it comes to his legacy, the actor said he knows exactly how he wants to be remembered: "He worked hard, he was always on time and knew his lines, and he tried really hard to be a good guy".

"It was the only time I saw men get up, sick, and walk out of a theater", he added. But when injuries derailed a promising athletic career, Reynolds turned to acting.

One of the biggest names in film and having cemented his place in Hollywood history, how much was Burt Reynolds worth? Reynolds was now shooting Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.

"You can only hold your stomach in for so many hours". "Along the way, I've met some wonderful people". "I can sing", he admitted to interviewers, "as well as Fred Astaire can act".

"The moment you grab someone by the lapels, you're lost".

"I'm leaving. I'm not the player I was", Reynolds told his teammates. Well, so far, so good.

"I think mostly because he was young and full of himself", Reynolds said of Anderson in a GQ interview in 2015. And there's one thing they can never take away: "Nobody had more fun than I did". Reynolds had also been in relationships with Dinah Shore, Inger Stevens, Chris Evert, Judy Carne, Loni Anderson, and mentioned dating Hawn and Farrah Fawcett in his memoir.
