Nationals trading multiple players who were placed on waivers

The Washington Nationals placed him on revocable trade waivers, and someone is interested.

The club also activated pitcher Carlos Martinez, 26, from the 10-day disabled list.

Murphy has been traded to the Chicago Cubs, according to multiple reports. The teardown, however, apparently won't involve superstar outfielder and pending free agent Bryce Harper.

The Cardinals are tied with Philadelphia and Colorado for the second NL Wild Card spot. When the Nationals visited St. Louis recently, Carpenter reportedly denied Adams a taste of some homemade salsa that has become popular among Cardinals players. On May 20, 2017, Adams was traded to the Atlanta Braves for minor league infielder Juan Yepez. The slugger is batting.257 with 18 homers and 48 RBIs in 94 games this season.

Martínez has been out with a right shoulder strain since going on the DL on July 31 and missing 19 games.

Wisdom, 26, goes back to the minors, where he played 747 career games before getting his first major league call-up August 11.

Russell already is coping with a swollen knuckle on his middle left finger, and he could be destined for the 10-day disabled list to make room for when Murphy, who was acquired from the Nationals, arrives Wednesday.

Adams is in transit and is expected to join up with the Cardinals organization in the upcoming days, the Cardinals said in a press released.
