Russian ambassador says Moscow open to another Trump-Putin meeting

Putin has also signalled in the wake of his summit with Trump that he and the US President reached several agreements, but neither Trump nor the White House have confirmed any substantive agreements between the two countries. Russian Federation has repeatedly denied meddling in the election and allegations of collusion with the Trump campaign.

The White House said on Thursday that Trump had invited Putin to visit Washington this autumn, a daring rebuttal to a torrent of criticism in the United States over Trump's summit with Putin in Helsinki this week.

President Trump has faced harsh criticism following his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Monday.

"I'm sure that the White House and (Trump's) advisers will make sure that America comes first", said Terry Lathan, chairwoman of the Alabama Republican Party. Once he got there, he returned to Twitter to complain about news coverage of Monday's meeting. We don't need a repeat performance - we need a president who will put America's national security over the interests of Vladimir Putin. "We'd rather not know".it was very clear that anything that might tarnish the NRA, they didn't want to hear". If I was loud & vicious, I would have been criticized for being too tough.

"Say that again", national intelligence director Dan Coats responded, when informed of the invitation during an appearance at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado.

At first, Nielsen distinguished between efforts targeted at election infrastructure in the USA and other attempts to meddle. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss planning, said the talks would also cover nuclear proliferation, North Korea, Iran and Syria.

News of the invite caught many in Washington off-guard. Also taking their seats are from left, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Deputy Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, White House deputy chief of staff for communications Bill Shine, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao. "Those conversations are incredibly important".

Sanders made the statement just as the US Senate took up a resolution objecting to any move by the Trump administration to make US officials available for questioning by Russian government officials.

In an interview with NBC's Peter Alexander, Secretary Nielsen said there's no doubt the Russians attempted to interfere with the 2016 election. No Russian leader has visited the White House in almost a decade.

It wasn't until more than 24 hours after the press conference that Trump took back his initial remarks, blaming a grammatical glitch as he read from a prepared statement: "The sentence should have been: I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Russian Federation".

Russian Federation has not yet spoken about any second meeting with the American president. He did not elaborate on what Putin's solutions would be.

Ukraine and European powers are unlikely to support a referendum in the Donbass region, where pro-Russian separatists hold sway.

"There are many answers, some easy and some hard, to these problems ... but they can ALL be solved!" he tweeted. He said the summit notably made progress on U.S.

Antonov gave details of their discussions on arms control, but said the USA has been reluctant to back Russia's proposals so far.
