Additional Details Revealed In Carmelo Anthony Trade

Carmelo Anthony, right, and Steven Adams trade blows with Jae Crowder during the 2017-18 season.

Carmelo Anthony reportedly was traded Thursday from the Thunder to the Hawks, and it doesn't appear the star forward will be in Atlanta for long. The Rockets are the frontrunners to land Anthony, according to Wojnarowski. That said, trying to beat the Golden State Warriors at their own game is somewhat of a fool's errand, which Houston learned the hard way during their Western Conference finals loss to the Dubs.

The stretch provision would have left $9 million-plus a year on the Thunder's books for the next three years, so Schroder's $15.5M per year deal is a bargain.

The pick the Thunder are sending the Hawks is 2022 lottery protected first rounder (1-14).

Schroder, a speedy 6-foot-1 guard, averaged a career-high 19.4 points last season for the Hawks in 67 games, all starts.

The 10-time All-Star averaged 16.2 points-per-game during the regular season but became nearly unplayable during the Thunder's first-round playoff exit to the Utah Jazz. His playing time dwindled in the playoffs. He averaged 16.2 points and struggled at times in his new role alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George.

Anderson is joining his third team in four seasons.

Moving Schroder from the team has been a top priority after the team drafted Trae Young with the #5 overall draft pick. In 121 National Basketball Association games, Luwawu-Cabarrot has averaged 6.1 points in 16.5 minutes per game. Carroll played in six summer league games for the team, averaging 4.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in nine minutes. But by trading for Lin, the Hawks gave themselves a veteran point guard who can be a mentor to Young this season - and one who, if he can stay healthy after two injury-riddled seasons in Brooklyn, they could flip before February's trade deadline. He was selected by the Mavericks with the No. 21 pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.
