Jabari Parker on the verge of offer sheet from Bulls

The four-year NBA veteran is a Chicago native who was the high school National Player of the Year while starring at Simeon Career Academy. Agent Mark Bartelstein confirmed the deal Saturday, July 14, 2018, after the Bucks rescinded their qualifying offer. The Bucks had the option to match the Bulls' offer.

Parker, 23, has played his entire career thus far with the Milwaukee Bucks but could switch teams this offseason.

Jabari Parker is heading back home. But the Bucks already have a lot of salary committed to players for the foreseeable future, and given Parker's injury history, it might be smart to not match an offer sheet, especially an expensive one. Parker has agreed to a big short-term contract with the Chicago Bulls. His most recent injury occurred in February 2017, which caused him to miss all but 31 games of last season.

The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has signed forward Jabari Parker. This led to the Bucks having no interest in signing him for any real amount of money, as we now know they won't be matching the Bulls' offer.

In Chicago, Parker will join a young nucleus that includes Wendell Carter Jr., Kris Dunn, Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine. He had his best season in 2016-17 - averaging 20 points, six rebounds and almost three assists in 50 games before suffering another knee injury.

The Bulls plan to use Parker largely as a small forward.

When healthy Parker has shown a versatile scoring skill set that's allowed him to average 15.3 points in four seasons. The Bulls cleared roster space by releasing guard Julyan Stone and forward Paul Zipser.
