NYC attorney who unleashed racist rant at Manhattan eatery has NJ ties

Schlossberg was there representing Queens medical center Aimes Enterprises Inc. - a day after footage emerged of the lawyer threatening to have workers at a Manhattan eatery "kicked out of my country".

In the meantime, eagle-eyed observers have pointed out that this isn't the first time Schlossberg has made his hateful views public.

The attorney's identity was revealed thanks to some clever crowdsourcing by black rights activist Shaun King, who also unearthed a video from 2016 in which Schlossberg can be seen approaching a stranger on a NY sidewalk and calling him an ugly "foreigner".

"If you intend to be running a place in midtown Manhattan, your staff better be speaking to customers in English", said Schlossberg.

"Your staff is speaking Spanish to customers when they should be speaking English", Schlossberg says to a different employee in the video.

"And my guess is that they're not documented", he said.

The Congressman filed a formal grievance against Schlossberg with the New York State Unified Court System, and he said he and his office will welcome whatever the disciplinary committee ultimately decides.

Further requests for comment from the mayor's office were directed to the NYCCHR.

Courtney, who is listed as an executive producer for 2015's "Beasts of No Nation", said Thursday morning he was also unaware of Schlossberg's outburst and didn't have any immediate comment on whether he will continue using his services.

Several city elected officials have taken action against an attorney after his racist rant went viral on social media. And on Thursday morning, activist Shaun King posted an unedited video of Schlossberg assaulting and calling Willie Morris, a white man from MA, "an ugly fucking foreigner" on the sidewalk of Fifth Avenue.

He's shown arguing with protesters who gathered in support of Linda Sarsour, a Muslim activist and co-chair of the 2017 Women's March.

On Schlossberg's law firm website, he states that he practices business and commercial law.

The manager tried to diffuse the situation by saying that sometimes the workers do speak Spanish. "We found Mr. Schlossberg's statements offensive and contrary to our community norms and have chose to terminate his services agreement with us", the company told NBC's News 4 in a statement. The city's Commission on Human Rights can investigate potential violations and levy fines.

Ramos wrote on Twitter that one attorney approached him and told him he should be disbarred.

The city has always been home to multiple languages, and there are anywhere from 600 to 800 languages spoken in the metropolitan region, said Ross Perlin, co-director of the Endangered Language Alliance.
