Facebook updates Stories with audio, archiving and saved clips

As the name suggests, this feature allows you to share a moment without having to share a photo or video.

Like the Facebook Camera feature, it saves your posts privately. Now when you take a picture with Facebook Camera, you can save it to your Facebook account rather than your phone. The most important as far as I am concerned is the return of "voice posts". After that, you need to tap the Facebook Camera option to save your memories to the private space. There is now no limit for a voice post that is shared to News Feed, but the recording time is restricted by the local storage on the user's device. They will be given the option to save the photos and videos directly to their Facebook account.

Notably, the feature to save photos and videos on the Facebook Camera is initially rolling out to Facebook for Android later this evening.

Last August, Facebook announced that it was bringing Stories to its desktop site in a move that many viewed as a last-ditch effort to make the product popular.

According to Facebook, for some people photos and text are not the most effective way to communicate. He adds that "Voice posts give people a new medium through which to express themselves". Since voice posts work in a similar fashion as stories, it will disappear after 24 hours.

It means that users don't have to type to upload a voice post, making it easier than ever to upload to Facebook Stories. Furthermore, you can also pick photos from your phone's local storage.

Facebook Stories is adding a feature that lets you post audio clips. At F8, the company shared the surprising revelation that the Stories format is growing faster than feeds.

The next new feature is that images captured using the Facebook camera can now automatically be uploaded to the Facebook cloud. There is no word on its availability on iOS.

All of these new features, including voice posts, are already available for users in India, with Facebook planning a global rollout "shortly after". We can only assume that we are going to see a lot of bathroom singers. Users can go back and view these Stories at any time, or choose to reshare them as a post or story. "You can still find it in your Stories Archive if you have Archive turned on", explains Hayes. After that, your Stories will be available to access at any time.

Your Voice Posts on Stories will not be stored until you have archived the Story. Users will get an option whether they want to archive Stories.

The social network has also said that an archive feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks which will let users save the Facebook Stories they want to preserve.

Hayes didn't provide any specific timeline for the availability of the new features in the global markets.
