CBS Staffers Hit Charlie Rose With Sex-Harassment Suit

Charlie Rose just got hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit from 3 women he worked with at CBS, including his personal assistant.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of 27 new women coming forward with allegations against their former co-worker.

Former CBS news associate Yuqing "Chelsea" Wei, former broadcast associate Katherine Brooks Harris and Rose's former executive assistant Sydney McNeal claim the network never tried to protect them, despite having known about Rose's inappropriate behavior for years.

He asked Harris and McNeal to describe their sex lives and boasted of his own conquests, according to the lawsuit.

The Post published a follow-up report this week that revealed an additional 27 accusers who said Rose had acted inappropriately toward them, including groping their bodies and making lewd sexual remarks, among other acts.

CBS claims it knew nothing about any allegations concerning Mr. Both Harris and McNeal lost their jobs after Rose's PBS show was canceled in the wake of the Post's reporting.

In this August 10, 2015 file photo, Political Director for CBS News, John Dickerson, participates in the CBS News panel at the CBS Summer TCA Tour in Beverly Hills, Calif. CBS News has selected Dickerson as Charlie Rose's replacement on the "CBS This Morning" program, pairing him with current anchors Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell.

The lawsuit in NY state court appears to be the first brought against Rose alleging sexual misconduct since he was sacked from the network last fall following a Washington Post report that he had harassed eight women. CBS "did not investigate the complaint, and did not take any remedial action", the lawsuit alleges.

For many years, Rose did his PBS interview show at the same time he worked for CBS, and the Post story also examined his behavior there. According to the suit, Rose would invite Harris and McNeal out for dinners, and then sexually touched them on their thighs and kissed them on their cheeks.

Rose could not immediately be reached for comment.

Rose referred to Wei as a "China doll" and caressed her arms when she handed him papers, according to the lawsuit.

In the suit, Ms. Wei, an assistant, said she expressed concerns previous year to the current executive producer of "CBS This Morning", Ryan Kadro, about the amount of attention that Mr. She complained to the show's top producer, Chris Licht, but asked him not to tell human resources about it. Licht told the newspaper he followed her wishes and also talked to Rose about the incident.

CBS did not provide immediate comment on the lawsuit Friday. Her complaint included allegations against Kadro, whom she said kicked her chair as a show of intimidation. Ms. Wei has been on medical leave since March, the suit said.

"CBS was fully aware of".

They say they were subjected to "repeated, ongoing and unlawful physical and verbal sexual harassment" by Rose.
