Champions League: Jurgen Klopp warns Liverpool there's room for improvement

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has reminded his players that "they do not hang silver medals at Melwood" after they qualified for the UEFA Champions League final with a 7-6 aggregate win over AS Roma.

"We are Liverpool, we are strong and we can beat any team in the world".

The thought of emulating that generational success at such a historic club lured Klopp - who possesses the same charismatic character as Shankly - to follow in his footsteps at Liverpool in 2015.

The second leg of the tie against Roma was played amid heightened security after a Liverpool fan was attacked by Italian supporters prior to the first meeting between the sides at Anfield last week.

"They are quite confident but we don't care for that, we are focused on our job", said the Croatia global.

"They are constantly in the last four; going there is not normal for them but much more normal than it is for us".

Georginio Wijnaldum insists Real Madrid must be aware of Liverpool's quality ahead of the Champions League final.

"I knew before that Seville is one of the most hard places to go".

Pallotta echoed Roma sporting director Monchi who immediately after the game demanded that VAR "must" be brought into the Champions League after "incredible" errors. Yet Liverpool will play Real Madrid in Kiev on May 26, because they got it right.

"We have another important game on the weekend against Chelsea and then we have Real Madrid in the final".

The Champions League is a curse.

James Pallotta labelled the officiating "embarrassing" as the furious Roma president demanded the video assistant referee (VAR) be introduced in the Champions League following the club's semi-final defeat to Liverpool. I see no trophies after these games. I said it before the semifinal, everybody will remind me from now on that I lost the last five finals.

On Tuesday Real qualified for their third final in a row and were joined 24 hours later by Liverpool.

None of these sides are ones with great European pedigree, but minnows they are not either, and Liverpool blew each away in a manner that has left anyone watching breathless.

Indeed, the Champions League-winning midfield maestro has no top managerial experience, and many believe that will have a telling effect once he starts new life as a senior team boss. "They should fear us".

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has been mentioned in the same breath as the Portuguese this season, having scored one more goal (42) than the 33-year-old attacker.
