Amir Khan KOs Phil Lo Greco in 39 Seconds

The concerns proved unfounded after the Briton showed no signs of ring rust in his first bout in a British ring for five years, knocking out Canada's Phil Lo Greco in a mere 39 seconds on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a lucrative domestic super-fight against Kell Brook for years and after signing with Brook's promoter, Matchroom Sports, on his comeback, it seems nearly inevitable.

The Brit hadn't had a fight since his loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in May 2016, but showed he still has the speed and power as he threw punches at Lo Greco from the opening bell.

Khan, however, added: "I want to fight the best guys".

KELL BROOK is confident of "destroying" Amir Khan should the pair meet in the ring.

After the fight Khan said: "I've been out of the ring for two years".

Promoter for both fighters Eddie Hearn stated after that the British public seem desperate for the fight to happen, and is hoping to give them what they want this year, potentially in a sold out Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Khan also tweeted about the fight.

With his reflexes and quickness seemingly unaffected by the time away, Khan is back to contender status, with only the weight stipulation a sticking point for an encounter with Brook. I trained for a 12-round fight.

Amir, come on, Amir, all the fans want the fight.

Well, a poll by Sky Sports has revealed that 10% of you don't think it will happen, with 50% of you backing Kell Brook to win, leaving 40% of you saying Khan will win. "Khan is back", said Khan.

Khan even mentioned as much straight away after last night's fight. I want to leave that legacy behind and fill out a stadium.

The only times I let my hands go a little wild are when I know I have hurt my opponent and I just want to get him out.
