Tottenham's Harry Kane could make injury return vs. Chelsea - Mauricio Pochettino

The gap between fourth-placed Tottenham and Chelsea now stands at a place and five points, and another three would nearly certainly leave Mauricio Pochettino's team out of reach of their London rivals with seven games left to play.

Kane damaged lateral ligaments in his ankle during a league match against Bournemouth on March 11, and Tottenham said the striker would not be back in training until April.

"We need to assess in the next few days".

"If not this weekend maybe next weekend, but the most important is that we are so positive about his recovery, he is doing fantastic. Every day he is improving", Pochettino said. I think, when you play this type of game, I think the pressure is for both teams.

"I can not say no, but I can not say yes. We are so pleased because after Bournemouth everyone thought it would be a long time, but that is not the case".

"I think to compare with Arsenal, it is similar in everything".

However, speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Pochettino appeared to indicate there was some chance Kane could be involved. "It will be a massive game for both teams". Arsenal and Chelsea always are tough games, because they are derbies and, for me, it is a similar type of opponent.

"It is not a final, it is not a decisive game that is going to put you in one or another position, because there are still a lot of games to play".

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has said that Harry Kane remains doubtful for the club's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

"For us today he was very good, he was fresh, he was fit and I am happy with the way he showed his fitness", Poch added.

"Of course, [it's] always not only advice, [it] is talk [aimed at] trying to help the players, to help the players when they need to be pushed".
