Daniels' lawyer won't give evidence of alleged Trump affair

During Monday's White House press briefing, Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said President Trump believes Stormy Daniels is making up her story about being threatened in a Las Vegas parking lot in 2011 - a time when In Touch Magazine was considering publishing an interview with Daniels about her affair with Trump.

Michael Avenatti told 60 Minutes the reason he took the case was because his client was honest and honorable. She said she asked, "Does this ... does this normally work for you?" Then she said she didnt say a thing during their sexual encounter. "The campaign or Mr. Cohen can address anything with respect to their actions", Shah said, referencing Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen who reportedly paid Daniels $130,000 just days before the 2016 election to stay silent about the allegations. It was the biggest audience for "60 Minutes" since a November 16, 2008 post-election interview with Barack and Michelle Obama.

Representatives for the president have denied any sexual relationship took place, despite Cohen's admission that he paid US$130,000 to buy her silence.

He made the rounds of television talk shows the morning after Daniels' "60 Minutes" interview on CBS.

Daniels' appearance on "60 Minutes" comes at a tense moment for Trump, who has denied impropriety with women but not publicly commented on Daniels' story yet. But she then feared for her family's safety after being subjected to threats.

Avenatti says he is still working to verify the man's identity. Running for president, Mr. Trump jiu-jitsued facts that would have ended other candidacies into selling points.

In a letter released after the interview, Mr Cohen's lawyer Brent Blakely said: "Mr. Cohen had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any such person or incident, and does not even believe that any such person exists, or that such incident ever occurred".

Then Daniels told Trump that she should spank him with the magazine.

Daniels's story about meeting Trump in 2006 and beginning an affair with him at a celebrity golf tournament has remained largely consistent through multiple interviews and accounts over several years.

Monday, Daniels added Cohen as a defendant in a lawsuit, originally filed on March 6, 2018, that argues a "hush" agreement between Trump and Daniels is invalid because Trump did not sign the document.

"It was reasonably understood Mr. Cohen meant to convey that Ms. (Stephanie) Clifford is a liar", the complaint reads, referencing Daniels' real name.

"Because they made it sound like I had no choice", Daniels said.

Daniels' told "60 Minutes" on Sunday that she felt she had "no choice" but to sign the statements because of the nondisclosure agreement she had signed. His wife, Melania Trump, was rumored to be nervous about what the porn star would expose during the special - and it turns out she and her husband weren't together while it aired.

McDougal has filed suit in Los Angeles seeking to invalidate a confidentiality agreement with American Media Inc., the company that owns the supermarket tabloid National Enquirer.

While Stormy coming forward was bad enough, Melania's nightmare grew worse last week when former Playboy model Karen McDougal claimed she had a 10-month long affair with Donald before his presidency.
