Zidane Thinks Madrid Will 'Suffer' in Paris

In the Primera Division, Los Blancos are well adrift in fourth place, 17 points behind leaders Barcelona after 23 rounds of the championship, albeit with a game in hand.

He has won eight trophies in two years since taking over at Madrid, including back-to-back Champions League and La Liga titles, but has found himself under increasing pressure following a poor run of results.

"We haven't had many days to rest up but that's just the way it goes".

Marco Asensio scored twice while Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema also netted as Real Madrid recorded a 5-3 win over Real Betis in Sunday night's entertaining La Liga contest at the Benito Villamarin.

Real have had one of their worst seasons in recent memory but have returned to their ruthless best in their last three games, particularly in attack, hammering Real Sociedad 5-2 in their previous league game and then beating high-flying Paris St Germain 3-1 in their Champions League last-16 first leg. Both the attackers impressed coming on from the bench against PSG and will want to make a mark on Sunday.

Zidane is likely to set his team out in a 4-4-2 setup for the game, with Keylor Navas starting between the sticks once again, behind the back four that will comprise of Dani Carvajal and Theo Hernandez as the full-backs, with Sergio Ramos and Nacho as the centre-backs.

"This shows that we have character", Zidane said. I hope to continue playing this way. We know we are going to suffer.

"We were squeezed, there were losses and the third goal hurt us a lot, then we recovered a bit, we had space and we played in their field to get another goal, it could not be but I think we played a very good game and did what we could". "They must all be ready".

"You can never doubt [Ronaldo], even when he does not score", Zidane said. He has been out of his depth on his rare outings, looking a shadow of the player who excelled during last season's loan spell at Alaves, but he was steady for the final hour on this occasion and the next few weeks could be his big chance to prove he belongs at this level.

Toni Kroos, meanwhile, misses out on the encounter after suffering a sprained knee, with the Champions League return in Paris the goal for the Germany global as he seeks to regain fitness.
