Vehicle crashes into second floor of Calif. office building

The auto then launched into the air and ended up wedged in the second floor of a dental office.

"Your OC Firefighters respond to a vehicle into a structure and were a little surprised to see it in the second floor", Orange County firefighters, Local 3631 said in a Facebook post.

A auto remains lodged inside the second floor of a Santa Ana dentist office after the driver crashed into the building on January 14, 2018.

SANTA ANA - A speeding vehicle struck a median and flew into the second floor of a building early Sunday morning, January 14, remaining lodged into a dental office, authorities said.

Authorities said a white sedan was traveling at an excessive rate of speed and hit a median on 17th St.

Santa Ana Police said in a statement that the driver of the vehicle admitted to using narcotics.

Their vehicle then apparently "went airborne and landed into the building", the Orange County Fire Agency tweeted Sunday. Both were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Santa Ana is located just southeast of Anaheim.

The fire department removed the auto with a wrecker truck later on. A fire that sparked as a result of the crash was also extinguished, officials said.

LA County Fire removed the vehicle from the structure following an assessment of the integrity of the structure by Public Works.
