Here's everything that works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa

With all these choices, you've connected millions of new smart home devices to Google Home every month. Google also touts the more than 1,500 compatible smart home devices from over 225 brands. In fact, there will be a "Google Assistant Playground" to show off "new integrations, devices, and the newest ways you can use your Assistant".

It's pretty easy to guess that the Home Mini was the most popular among the three since it was on sale for $29 throughout the holiday season.

Following blockbuster holiday sales, it's official: Smart speakers are the new best-selling consumer gadget.

If you take a look at the Home Max, it only launched mid-December and costs $399.

Google sold more than one Home smart speaker every second since it started shipping in mid-October, taking the sales numbers to over six million, the company has announced.

The Assistant is now available on more than 400 million devices, including speakers like Google Home, Android phones and tablets, iPhones, headphones, TVs, watches and more. Alexa and Google lead the market at the moment, but Apple, Sonos, LG and even Facebook will soon have something more to say about that.

Despite tasting success in the U.S. and Western Europe, China will continue to elude the two smart speaker giants, Amazon and Google.

With smartphone features, many of these home devices extend the convenience of a virtual assistant.

But aside from shedding more light on the staggering growth of the smart speaker market, the survey also highlights another interesting trend - owners of smart home speakers, such as the Google Home and Amazon Echo, tend to use their smartphones less, while at home least. Google will be showcasing its products at CES this week in Las Vegas.
