Earthquake Jolts Delhi-NCR today with 5.5 magnitude; No casualties reported

A magnitude 5.5 natural disaster tremors hit parts of Uttarakhand Wednesday. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said quake tremors with magnitude 5.5 hit Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand, depth 30 km.

The epicentre was Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD). No immediate loss of life or property was reported.

Uttarakhand, a part of the Himalayan region, falls under a high seismic zone. According to reports, epicentre of the quake is in Uttarakhand and it was felt in Punjab and Haryana as well. People rushed out of their homes in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Dehradun district as the strong tremors were felt.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the natural disaster of 5.5 magnitude occurred at 8:49 p.m. Strong tremors were felt in Delhi and other areas across northern India.
