Weinstein hit with United Kingdom civil suit for sexual assault

Harvey Weinstein's latest accuser just held a news conference in which she described the alleged sexual attack in a hotel room.

Things quickly went bad when Weinstein and the actress stepped inside the Oscar winner's room at Le Majestic Hotel during the Cannes Film Festival in May 2014.

When she rebuffed him, he "forcibly" pulled her into the bathroom, where he pulled down her shirt, unbuckled his trousers and masturbated as he rubbed against her and then forced her hand on his penis, the lawsuit states.

Another actress added her name Monday to the dozens accusing movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of a litany of depraved sexual misconduct as he was forced to quit Hollywood's directing union.

A woman has made the first civil claim at the High Court in London against Harvey Weinstein for alleged rape and sexual assault.

"The reason why I said nothing for so long is I thought if I ever wanted an opportunity in this industry, how would small me speak of this man saying he's been inappropriate with me, people look at me like who the hell is this girl to say this about this god or powerful influence", she told reporters.

In this case, Weinstein is accused of using a fraudulent employment opportunity to lure Noble to his hotel room for what he hoped would be quid-pro-quo sex and what turned into a sexual assault.

The suit says Weinstein told Noble he had a role in mind that would "be good for you", introduced her to his executive assistant, had her bring a reel of her work to his London office, and promised her a role in a Weinstein Company project. Once there, he asked her to sit on couch while they watched the reel and, as they watched, began massaging her before gripping her shoulders and telling her "that she needed to relax, and if she did, his people would have all of her details and would "take care of everything" for her", the suit states.

Instead, according to Kadian, Weinstein grabbed her breasts.

Actions that could constitute violations of federal sex trafficking statutes, according to the jury seeking filing.

The company violated US sex trafficking law by "benefiting from, and knowingly facilitating, the venture in which Harvey Weinstein traveled in foreign commerce to recruit or entice female actors into forced or coerced sexual encounters on the promise of roles", states the lawsuit. Employees even had code words communicating what they expected to occur, the lawsuit states. "Harvey Weinstein ultimately forced Kadian into sexual acts", the 11-page complaint states.

A spokesperson for Weinstein told the Guardian the Jewish producer denies any allegations of nonconsensual sex.

A spokesman for the Directors Guild of America confirmed that Weinstein had resigned, several weeks after president Thomas Schlamme announced disciplinary charges against the tycoon, but refused to comment further.
