Google's Tez goes live; Here are its top featues

One should be aware of the fact that It is not a mobile wallet like PayTM where users can store money on the app. Google Tez allows users to make transactions through the phone by deducting payments from the linked bank account.

The supported banks by this app ares state bank of India, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Axis bank and all other banks that actually support the UPI (Unified Payment Interface).

Tez will support UPI, enabling users to link their mobile phones to their bank accounts and facilitating payments to merchants for goods purchased as well as to and from other users of the app.

Tez works with all major Indian banks and the vast majority of smartphones - so you can pay or get paid by nearly anyone.

Supports eight languages such as English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Google has forayed into India's fast-growing digital payment space by launching Tez - an application that enables quick money-transfer and bill payments.

Tez has already gone live on Google's Play Store, and Apple's App Store on iOS as well. Since it is a UPI backed app, Tez is connected with most Indian banks, especially the ones which support UPI. The user can also do all this by sending a message from the registered number through "Tez" interface. Google says its completely secure and uses UPI's bank to bank transfer platform.

Get Tez Scratch Cards (TM) in the app and be eligible to win up to ₹1,000 with each eligible transaction.

The Tap for Cash Mode, however, has been the most innovative part of the app. It will give competition to government's BHIM app and PayTM. To "cash" in on this trend, Google has introduced its own payment app made especially for India. To establish an account and to use Tez, customers must be in India, have an Indian bank account and an Indian mobile number.

Google also plans to launch a version of the app for businesses but businesses need to register to show their interest in the app. UPI allows for easy transfer for payments within bank accounts. All this without sharing bank details or phone numbers. Security is taken care of as well, thanks to Google's multi-layered security and 24/7 protection provided by Tez Shield.

As far as paying on websites and services with Tez is concerned, we should see more of these services integrate Google's digital payments service going forward. To authorize the payment, you will need to enter your UPI PIN.
