Documentary reveals Gaga's struggle with chronic pain

When Lady Gaga and ex-fiancé Taylor Kinney made a decision to "take a break" back in July of past year, fans were largely left to wonder why the twosome that once seemed destined for marriage suddenly fell off the rails.

Asked about a scene in her new documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two, where she rushes off stage and asks her boyfriend Christian Carino how she did, she told "Entertainment Tonight": "It's not just about it being my boyfriend". It doesn't mean I won't be creating. The movie examines the life of Stefani Joanne Germanotta, which is Lady Gaga's birth name, after the release of her Artpop album. We get to see private Gaga - conducting a meeting while topless in her backyard, crying and "in pain" from a past injury and playing a personal song for her father and grandmother.

"My love life has just imploded. There's nothing you can do, beyond filming", he said.

'I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt. "It's hard, but it's also frees", said star.

It has been a decade since she emerged as one of the top stars in the world, with hits such as Bad Romance and Born This Way.

So although it seemed hopeful that the pair may get back together, her documentary, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last week, paints a different picture. "Telling me you think I'm a piece of s- through the media?" According to People magazine, Gaga said she and Kinney were fighting a lot at the time.

"But that's not to say there weren't extreme highs", she said of stardom.

From the beginning of the documentary, the subject of the Super Bowl is front and center - the film opens with Gaga suspended in the air, moments before the show begins.

"I've never really done a lifetime achievement award or a performance to celebrate my career", she says.
