Trump Orders N. Korean Missiles Heading to U.S. be Shot Down

South Korean President Moon Jae-in says more launchers were added to a contentious high-tech missile defense system because his country faces an unprecedented security threat from North Korea.

French President Emmanuel Macron is calling on the worldwide community to put more pressure on North Korea to bring the country back to the negotiating table, in response to Pyongyang's latest nuclear test.

Kim, a third-generation dictator in his thirties, has conducted four of North Korea's six nuclear tests since taking power in 2011.

The U.S.is circulating a draft resolution at the United Nations that would bar crude oil shipments to North Korea, ban the nation's exports of textiles and prohibit employment of its guest workers by other countries, according to a diplomat at the world body. The survey found that 58 percent of those questioned felt there was no possibility North Korea would cause a war, while only 24 percent thought it would not.

Missile tests by the country have in the past coincided with major political events in the country.

Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi said Beijing supports further United Nations action against North Korea but also wants to see renewed efforts to begin dialogue involving all sides.

North Korea has previously marked key dates with displays of military power, but now its tests appear to be driven by the need to improve missile capabilities.

The Chinese media's beating up on Korea went a step further. It also provides hundreds of thousands of tonnes of oil and fuel to the impoverished regime.

Speaking at an economic forum in Russia's eastern port of Vladivostok, Putin said Thursday he believes the Trump administration is "willing to resolve the situation".

In addition, US President Donald Trump, along with the South Korean Prime Minister, Moon and the Japanese prime minister, Shinzo Abe, are working towards an oil embargo against the North - a move outrightly opposed by China and Russian Federation.

President Donald Trump reiterated on Thursday that USA military action is "certainly" an option against North Korea, as his administration tentatively concurred with the pariah nation's claim to have tested a hydrogen bomb.

Trump has repeatedly said all options are on the table in dealing with North Korea, including the military one.

North Korea says it needs its weapons to protect itself from US aggression.

But neither side appears willing to budge. Putin and Abe are set to meet later Thursday.

The country tested its developmental Hwasong-14 ICBMs twice in July and analysts said the flight data from the launches indicate the missiles could cover a broad area of the continental USA, including major cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago, when perfected.

Two launchers have been operational at the site since May, CNN reported.

China lodged another stern protest on Thursday.

"The battery will be operational as soon as the USA finishes its internal procedures", South Korean defence ministry spokesman Moon Sang-gyun told reporters.
