Teen Held Captive for a Month Escapes Kidnappers

Three men have been arrested in the abduction of a 15-year-old Alexandria girl who went missing August 8 and was found Tuesday, 20 miles from home.

She was found running through a field about 1:30 p.m.in rural Grant County, Minn., Alexandria Police said.

Police arrested Thomas Barker, 32, Joshua Holby, 31, and Steven Powers, 20, who are all being held in the Douglas County jail on probable cause of kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault.

Wyffels said, Block got a golden opportunity to escape when the kidnapper left her alone in the foreclosed home for the very first time in those 29 days, they went out to get food. Once inside he restrained her with zip ties, repeatedly assaulted her and threatened her with weapons.

During questioning, Powers admitted to staying at Barker's place for two weeks and having sexual relations with the girl.

On Tuesday, the three went to a close-by town for lunch and left Block alone without precedent for 29 days.

A kidnapped American teen has swum across a lake to escape her abductors after almost a month in captivity. In order to get help, Block knocked many doors before she swam across the Thompson Lake for freedom. "They're all incredible people".

Three men are under arrest and will be charged this week in the abduction.

It is then that she spotted a vehicle being driven by one of her attackers. Block lost her shoes and trousers while swimming in Thompson Lake and anglers are asked to report any clothing floating in the lake or on the shoreline. 'I am so damn proud of her [victim] and so happy to have her home safe with us.

Jasmine told responding officers she had been abducted. The other two men, Barker and Holby, were together in a different vehicle.

The girl's safe return came a day after an anonymous donor added $5,000 to a $2,000 reward for information leading to her safe return.

Jasmine has since been reunited with her family.

Authorities said Barker and Holby shared the residence at which the girl was kept.

She has minor injuries.

A farmer who requested anonymity told WCCO he was on his way to work on Tuesday when he realized he forgot something and turned back, only to find Block standing in the grass at the back of his property.
