Barcelona set to bid for Juventus' Paulo Dybala as Philippe Coutinho alternative

Jurgen Klopp must wait another 25 hours before learning whether or not he will lose his best attacker, Philippe Coutinho, to Barcelona.

The transfer window closes on Thursday in most European countries and on Friday in Spain.

FIFA, world football's governing body, allows individual football associations to decide on their respective deadlines for registering players.

Yahoo Sports has claimed that the Brazil worldwide will be a Barcelona player "by the end of the week" as Thursday's transfer deadline day looms large over the horizon.

Barcelona's latest mega bid for the Brazilian, if rejected by Liverpool, will mean that the Catalan club might not negotiate further with the Reds and hence their search for another signing will lead them to pursuing Dybala's signature.

"It's disappointing because I'm sure that, in the case of Liverpool, they did a very good job in making Coutinho the player he is today".

Their desire to entice Coutinho to Nou Camp has only intensified following the world-record sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, and despite splashing out £135.5m on Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Ousmane Dembele.

Brazil soccer coach Tite has told midfielder Philippe Coutinho to play for whatever club would make him happy and complained that transfer speculation had affected the national squad's preparations for Thursday's match against Ecuador.
