'Wonder Woman' sequel is a go

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics announced the follow-up at the Comic-Con in San Diego, attended by none other than the now world famous Israeli actress. It doesn't matter that the film's (highly-talented) director is a woman.

It has been rumored that the film would happen in the 1980s during the Cold War, but no story details have been officially announced. Now I want to make Wonder Woman 2.

Wonder Woman will be back for another solo adventure. And when the simple Wonder Woman II graphic appeared at the end of a sizzle reel, the crowd went wild.

The news that we're getting a Wonder Woman II isn't a surprise. Although many gave the movie little or no chance at all, it became Warner Bros most critically successful film. This iconic role has pushed her into the spotlight, a sequel plus an appearance in the upcoming Justice League, means that her star-power isn't about to fade anytime soon.

Director Patty Jenkins has revealed that the story is going to take place in the United States.

One actress who could have been basking in all of this Wonder Woman glory is Charlize Theron.

"Wonder Woman" came out in early June (read our review) and has made $385 million so far, likely landing as the top box-office hit of the summer.

Gadot was at Comic-Con to help promote "Justice League", which will see Batman (Ben Affleck), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) join Gadot on the big-screen. Jenkins regarding the issue said to EW that "I realized that "Wonder Woman 2" is its own great movie".
