New Evidence to Be Released in Investigation Into Indiana Teens' Slayings

Sgt. Kim Riley told reporters at a news conference the photo was released because authorities felt "it needed to come out".

Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby (tohb LEHZ'-ehn-BEE') says the witness saw the man walking around the time 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams were slain near their hometown of Delphi, about 60 miles (100 kilometers) northwest of Indianapolis.

The bodies of 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams were found more than five months ago on February 14, a day after they disappeared from the hiking trail where one of the girls' family members had dropped them off for the afternoon. Officers do not know his eye color and say that the hat may not be accurate.

No arrests have been made, and it has not yet been released how the girls were killed.

Their bodies were found the next day.
