The Confederations Cup Group A match between Portugal and Mexico will kick off at 6:00pm local time, 8:30pm IST and 11:00am EST.

"He is motivated, just like me", said the 21-year-old Silva at a news conference in Kazan ahead of Portugal's opening Confederations Cup match against Mexico on Sunday.

Obviously the Portugal side has the best player in the entire tournament with the ineffable Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo, netting 16 goals in his last 10 games, will certainly play a major role in Portugal's sprint for the Confederations Cup. Cristiano Ronaldo aims to lead his team to another piece of silverware despite plenty of outside pressure and rumours surrounding his future.

"We need to keep believing in ourselves, we know we have a great chance".

"It wasn't the result that we wanted", said Ronaldo. "He is 100 percent focused on this competition and he will be helping us".

Ronaldo insisted Wednesday he had a "clear conscience" after Spanish prosecutors accused the Real Madrid star of evading 14.7 million euros in tax through offshore companies.

The Portuguese sports daily A Bola published a front-page story Friday saying that Ronaldo was upset with the accusations made against him and that his decision to leave Madrid was "irreversible".

"I have the same confidence today", Portugal coach Fernando Santos said earlier this week.

It has been a dream last 12 months on the field for the former Manchester United man, who was a European champion at club and global level in 2016. "All these issues will not affect us". Nani, Ricardo Quaresma and Eder were in the squad when Portugal won the European championship a year ago, with Eder scoring the extra-time victor in the final against host France, but none made it to Fernando Santos' squad for the Confederations Cup, the World Cup warm-up event.

Ronaldo has not spoken to the media in Kazan and his staff said it would not comment about the recent issues involving the player.
