Seahawks' RB Eddie Lacy hits second weight clause marker

The deal was, if Lacy could lose enough weight to measure below 250 pounds by this morning, he would get a $55k bonus check.

If Lacy is able to continue to be in shape and underweight, he'll be a huge asset for the Seahawks this season.

Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy passed his weigh-in today, per source. To earn the money, Lacy will have to weigh 245 pounds or less in each month from September through December.

Seattle is giving Lacy another chance to redeem himself in the National Football League with the caveat of several much-publicised weight clauses into his contract. Fans who remember Jerome Bettis knows that the running back nicknamed "The Bus" was a truckload to take down at 255 pounds but Lacy is very different that Bettis. He had to be at 250 pounds or less on Monday.

Lacy rushed for 2,317 yards and 20 touchdowns in his first two National Football League seasons with the Packers, but he dropped to 758 yards and three TDs in 2015.

The Seahawks are still looking for a running back to stay healthy enough to replace Marshawn Lynch. In 2015, Rawls was excellent before being injured. Prosise showed great potential in the Seahawks win over the New England Patriots a year ago.

The contract Lacy signed with the Seahawks mandated seven weigh-ins.

Asked what kinds of foods he has cut out to shed weight, Lacy said, "What kinds of things?"
