Alvaro Morata emerges as Manchester United's top transfer target

Italian club, AC Milan, have agreed to personal terms with Real Madrid fringe striker, Alvaro Morata and are willing to offer €60 million to Real Madrid for the Spanish forward.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Manchester United proposed €60m, but Real Madrid turned it down.

But when Calcio Mercato give an update on the situation today, they make it clear that the Serie A side will have some tough competition from Manchester United to sign the player.

However, The Sun has reported that Los Blancos rebuffed those initial advances out of hand, and the paper has now claimed that the Champions League winners are holding out for around £78m to part with Morata this summer.

Jose Mourinho is in the market for a goal-getting attacker owing to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's cruciate ligament injury that he suffered at the tail-end of the 2016/2017 campaign.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte failed with a bid to sign the Spanish worldwide last summer as Real opted to keep hold, but he is hoping for more luck this time around.

United goalkeeper David de Gea was not included in the offer and it is believed that Real Madrid want £72m alone for the Spaniard striker.

Manager Zinedine Zidane looks likely to cut him loose after tonight's Champions League final, despite an impressive goal return of 20 goals from 42 games.

That now appears to be the case after this apparent bid, with United also perusing interest in Torino striker Andrea Belotti, who has a €100m release clause in his contract. Certainly not. I want to stay at Real Madrid, ' he said.

Moreover, he only started 14 times in the League.
