If you scan documents, you need this new Adobe app

"As part of Adobe Document Cloud, new apps like Adobe Scan integrate with services in Adobe Sign and Acrobat DC, offering a modern document experience with unprecedented value to our customers". An app that allows you to scan and upload documents and books in a PDF format.

It definitely isn't the first of its kind but does come with a few features that make it stand out from the crowd.

At the heart of Adobe Document Cloud is Acrobat DC, the world's best PDF solution; Adobe Sign, the leading solution that makes it easy to automate every task in a document workflow; and companion mobile apps like Adobe Scan and Adobe Acrobat Reader that help people get work done from anywhere.

Adobe Scan is similar to an app Google launched last November called PhotoScan, which digitizes film photos by scanning them and removing glare. While there's no shortage of scan-to-PDF apps on the App Store, many are not free, have a dated design, or simply convert an image to PDF format, but don't allow for edits. What this means is that you can then easily edit the text if you want or need to, although it will cost you. Once uploaded, documents can be emailed, opened in other apps and shared via web link direct from the app, or accessed on other platforms through Adobe's Acrobat family of products. It's free, and required because scans are stored online in Adobe Document Cloud. Those of you who want to try it out can visit the Google Play Store by clicking the button below to download it your device.

You can do documents and forms, of course, but it'll also scan notes, business cards, pictures, and big ol' whiteboards. You can crop, rotate, and use automatic color, grayscale, or whiteboard options. Share your thoughts with us in the comment section. And take advantage of new mobile functionality in Adobe Sign to automatically sign and send documents from any device.

Scan is available on iOS and Android now, and several new Adobe Sign features are also available today.

Business stamps such as company seals or analogues of physical stamps such as "Received" can be added to documents. That'll immediately upload your scan to Document Cloud.
