At Peak Severe Weather Season, More Storms on the Way

Severe thunderstorms with hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible in western Oklahoma on Tuesday, forecasters said. Most days this week will feature severe weather somewhere over the Central states.

The most widespread impacts from the thunderstorms will be damaging wind gusts, large hail and flash flooding. This is the kind of day where tornadoes are possible, if not likely, in addition to hail and high winds.

According to the National Weather Service in Topeka, thunderstorms will develop along a dry line across west central Kansas during the late afternoon hours Tuesday and move northeast across north central Kansas during the early to mid evening hours, then across the remainder of the area overnight. We'll see more storm chances Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!

Some of these storms could be strong. There's also some cloud cover this morning that may dissipate this morning as well so we'll call it mostly sunny today and highs will be in the upper 80s-low 90s. Temperatures will only drop to the upper 60's under partly cloudy skies Monday night.

A chance of severe weather exists for the KVOE listening area late Tuesday afternoon into the evening.

Showers and storms are likely Wednesday with a gusty south wind.

Thursday is likely to give us a chance to dry out and continue cooling. Cooler weather is expected due to the showers/storms. Stay safe and enjoy this great spring weather while it's here!
