Mike Brown is more than capable of leading the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors can get much needed rest before the second round by completing the sweep here.

The Warriors, playing without coach Steve Kerr for the second consecutive game, won the best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series 4-0 to advance. They finished with an National Basketball Association playoff record-tying 45 points in the period.

"There was a sense of urgency", said Curry, who made 12 of 20 shots from the field, including 7 of 11 from three-point range. As we've noted here, Steve Kerr is ailing, and will not coach in tonight's game. We were kind of loose but focused.

The poor Blazers couldn't bring themselves to actually post how many points the Warriors scored, either at the end of the first quarter or at halftime.

The most pressing health concern with the Warriors now is that of head coach Steve Kerr, who is missing his second straight game due to the return of painful symptoms related to back surgery he had almost two years ago.

All five Warriors starters scored in double figures, with Stephen Curry scoring 37 points to lead the way. The Blazers' backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum is one of the best in the league and Jusuf Nurkic was a huge addition at the trade deadline, averaging a double-double during his time in Portland.

RAPTORS 118, BUCKS 93: Norm Powell scored a career playoff-high 25 points, Kyle Lowry had 16 points and 10 assists and the Toronto Raptors beat the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series on Monday night. Curry's 3-pointer pushed Golden State's lead to 91-58.

The Warriors advanced to the conference semifinals, where they'll face the victor of the series between the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers, which is tied at 2. "Our guys were locked in on both ends of the floor". Last season's Coach of the Year missed the first 43 games of the 2015-2016 season with symptoms that resulted from complications with his back surgery. The defense was again front and center as the Blazers scored only 22 points to open the initial frame.

"You know, I was able to manage the pain and the discomfort over the past year and a half and all of sudden they got worse and I don't know why", Kerr said. He played 30 minutes and finished plus-29 for the game.

Brown, who has previously coached the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, feels that the team can continue its winning ways due to the strong foundation laid by Kerr. "And we didn't play almost as well as they needed to and they showed why they're a championship team".

I think this game will follow a similar pattern to Game 3.
