Andy Cohen's warning for Ryan Seacrest: Don't underestimate Kelly Ripa

However, with Seacrest recently taking up another position at ABC as the new co-host of Live With Kelly, hosting Idol will have him taking two roundtrip flights from New York City to Los Angeles.

Seacrest of course was announced as co-host of ABC's syndicated show Live With Kelly and Ryan, as it's now called, last week.

ABC is reportedly eyeing a March premiere for the show.

Idol host Ryan Seacrest when asked by TMZ about returning to host, expressed his love for the show and exclaimed "I love to work", when asked about juggling multiple jobs. We haven't gotten that far. "Do you know the preparation I have to do for this show ['Live'] every night?"

Still, Ripa, a huge Idol fan, insisted he reclaim his hosting duties if and when the show gets a second life. I've said it before and I'll say it again. "I said, 'Well, that's kind of good to know, I work here!'"

"I think he should not underestimate how smart she is", Cohen said. "So this was news to me, actually, last week".

"On the days where it is the day after, you won't even have to think". He is relocating to NY for the role which could potentially be a problem for hosting duties as American Idol has always taped in Los Angeles.

American Idol first launched on FOX back in 2002 and ran for 15 seasons when it said "so long for now" with its series finale in 2016.

Since Seacrest just signed on to LIVE! and inked a $73-million iHeart Radio deal, he's offering LIVE! guests double the bang for their buck to keep them away from his rival.

Additionally, former judge Simon Cowell would be ineligible from returning to his former seat at the judges table as he is a producer on America's Got Talent and has an exclusive agreement with NBC.
