Madonna throws major shade on planned biopic of her life

A day after Universal acquired the rights to the script Blond Ambition, a story which tracks Madonna's early career, the singer posted on Instagram, criticizing the film.

New movie about Madonna will tell the story from the 1980s, the future music icon broke out in 1983 on her album "Madonna", followed by 1984's blockbuster "Like a Virgin".

The movie's synopsis will see Madonna Louise Ciccone in NY, juggling her big break in the industry with a developing love life, while she will also battle industry sexism.

During the early Eighties, Madonna was linked to the late artist Jean Michel Basquiat and the producer of her debut album, Jellybean Benítez, so no doubt these names will pop up on Blonde Ambition.

Just a day after we got news that a Madonna biopic is in the works (below), we also get the answer to the question "will she be involved in it".

According to the BBC, Blond Ambition will "highlight the Material Girl balancing her burgeoning fame with her love life", according to Variety.

Reports of a Hollywood studio planning to make an unauthorised biopic on pop queen Madonna are doing rounds in the social media for quite some time. The script previously made the top of the 2016 black list, a list of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.

Brett Ratner and Michael De Luca (Fifty Shades of Grey) are attached to produce the film, written by newcomer Elyse Hollander. This is Hollander's first script, though she has worked as an assistant on ambitious projects such as Alejandro G. Inarritu's Birdman. Erik Baier's, Universal's executive vice president of production and director of development Chloe Yellin will oversee production.
