Talk-radio host Alex Jones argues persona in custody dispute

Alex Jones is maybe the nation's most well-known conspiracy theorist thanks to his controversial Infowars program.

"He's playing a character" and is nothing like his online persona, attorney Randall Wilhite reportedly insisted in a Texas courtroom at a pre-trial hearing ahead of the right wing radio jock's custody battle with ex-wife Kelly Jones.

The Alex Jones who told his legions of "Infowars" listeners that bogus stories about the US government being behind the 9/11 attacks and about Hillary Clinton operating a pedophile ring out of a Washington D.C. pizza joint is really "a performance artist". Which brings us news that broke this weekend in which Alex Jones is now in the middle of a custody battle with his ex-wife. Last month, Jones issued a rare apology for his role in promoting the false "Pizzagate" conspiracy theory, which alleged that a child sex ring was being run out of a Washington, D.C. pizzeria.

Mr. Jones has been known for peddling highly controversial conspiracies theories, like accusing the USA government of being involved in orchestrating the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

"He's not a stable person", she said, according to the American-Statesman.

While a verdict in his favor would help Jones's personal life, it could hurt a career that has resulted in a wide audience and even a friendship with President Donald Trump. He called Schiff an "archetypal cocksucker" and a "fairy", and said, "I'll beat your goddamn ass, you son of a bitch".

"This case is not about Infowars, and I don't want it to be about Infowars", Naranjo warned the attorneys. During the 2016 campaign, Trump called into Jones' show and told him, "Your reputation is awesome". "I will not let you down", the candidate told the host.

On how he thinks the Sandy Hook school massacre was fake. Jones has frequently hosted Trump adviser Roger Stone, and some prominent politicians, such as U.S. Sen.

Then, they played a video of a conversation between Jones and Republican strategist and Trump associate Roger Stone that, according to the Statesman, "quickly escalated into an expletive-studded, gay-bashing rant by Jones directed at Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee investigation of Trump's Russian Federation ties".

Millions of people watch Alex Jones, and certainly seem to believe him.
