La La Anthony separates from NY Knicks basketball star

Carmelo's time in NY seems to be up though as Knicks president Phil Jackson continues to press the veteran to waive his no-trade clause this summer.

Life for Anthonys has not been terribly pleasant lately, as Carmelo has been dogged by trade rumors. No less of an authority than Phil Jackson, in fact, has said that it's time for the former Denver Nuggets player to find a new home on the court.

There have been reports of marriage difficulties the past few months involving Carmelo's in-question New York Knicks career. She now has her own place in NYC now.

"We're told the couple's had ups and downs in the past, but the current National Basketball Association season has been extremely stressful on the marriage for several months".

They stuck together throughout his tenure in Denver and into his stint with the New York Knicks, which began shortly after the two got hitched.

The site added he is concerned about his son, and does not want to uproot him from his school in New York City if he is traded. The two also have one child together, 10-year-old Kiyan, who served as their ring bearer during their wedding.

La La and Carmelo married in 2010.
