Police arrest suspect in August killing of jogger in Princeton

Marcotte, 27, was a Google accounts manager who lived in NY.

It also matched the DNA of 31-year-old Angelo Colon-Ortiz, who lives in nearby Worcester and who police believe was working in the area at the time of Marcotte's attack.

Her body was found in a remote, wooded area a half mile away later that evening.

DNA evidence and an attentive state trooper helped find the man authorities believe killed a New York City woman last summer who was out jogging near her mother's MA home, authorities said Saturday.

A source confirmed that an arrest has been made in the killing of Google employee Vanessa Marcotte.

He is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault and battery, and assault with intent to rape.

State police arrested a suspect early Saturday morning, according to the source. Early said that he anticipates bringing a murder charge against Colon-Ortiz as the investigation progresses. She was visiting her mother on August 7 when she went out for an afternoon jog and never returned. The man is said to have driven a dark SUV that would have been in the vicinity of the murder that day and would have likely had scratches on his arms, hands and face.

Princeton residents said they're relieved to hear about an arrest in the case.
