Sculptor of Wall Street's bull wants DE artist's 'Fearless Girl' moved

Arturo Di Modica, the artist who created the "Charging Bull" statue, has a problem with the "Fearless Girl" statue that was recently placed near his artwork in New York City's financial district.

"The statue of the young girl becomes the "Fearless Girl" only because of the Charging Bull: the work is incomplete without Mr. Di Modica's Charging Bull, and as such it constitutes a derivative work of the Chargin Bull", the sculptor's legal team wrote in a letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday.

The statue's permit was extended to February 2018.

Di Modica calls the statue an "advertising trick" created by two corporate giants - Boston-based State Street Global Advisors and McCann, its NY advertising firm.

Just like Visbal, Di Modica had installed his massive bronze statue on the New York Stock Exchange in the middle of the night - albeit without a permit - to symbolize American financial optimism after the 1987 stock market crash. Siegel and Di Modica will have a news conference at 11 a.m. on Wednesday to explain in more detail how he is challenging the city.

Di Modica whispered, barely able to finish his sentence and touching his chest.

"What this girl represents is the present, but also the future", Tisdalle told the Times.

Frail and teary eyed, the Italian sculptor said he's spent more than $300,000 of his own money to bring us the bull decades ago, as a symbol of strength - not of the patriarchy.

Commissioned by asset management firm State Street Global Advisors and sculpted by Kristen Visbal, the 50-inch statue was initially only meant to stay up for one week.

"The bull is attractive, it's a stunning piece of art", Visbal told the New York Post. Where others see an inspiring note for women and girls, Arturo Di Modica sees "an advertising trick" that is violating his legal rights.

He says that the fact that the original plaque has been removed from the girl's feet proves that its motive wasn't genuine.

Siegel said a lawsuit has not been filed, but left the door open to the possibility, according to The Guardian.

Indeed the world is changing.

'How did the process happen and should permit be revoked?' his lawyer said in an interview.
