Live coverage of Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus event

After months of anticipation, Apple is finally revealing the iPhone 7. Apple is about to unveil its brand new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which will instantly become the most popular smartphones on the planet when they're released. In the Tweet they announce some of the key features, one of which is water resistance, dual cameras (iPhone 7 Plus only), and no headphone jack although they are not really a surprise.

Fresh iPhones: Apple is expected to release two new iPhones, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and remove the traditional headphone jack. It'll be interesting to see if and how Apple acknowledges these leaks on its own Twitter account, given the company's long-time emphasis of keeping new products a secret before they're announced on stage.

All shall be revealed.

But it also means future iPhone buyers will need new headsets that use a digital connection. The iPhone 7 Plus also seems to have a dual camera, while the camera on the smaller-screen iPhone 7 seems larger than before. But investors are more anxious about something other than an absent headphone jack: The missing enthusiasm for Apple's stock.

Starting at $369, the "Apple Watch Series 2" will be water resistant to 50 metres and the speaker will literally repel the water like a piston.

The second generation watch will have the brightest display ever (1,000 nits so that users can see it in full sunlight) and runs watchOS 3.

Phone advances from Apple, Samsung and other smartphone makers in recent years are becoming so run-of-the-mill that BGC analyst Colin Gillis says the industry is gradually losing its ability to dazzle consumers. But the move is a bold one for Apple, and one that tech pundits predict could have consumers staying away in droves.

The company also launched wireless headphones called Airpods that will cost $159.

Apple also deleted that tweet. One will be for wide-angle views and the other will have telephoto capabilities, which Apple says will zoom in by up to 10 times while still providing the same clarity as a shot on the standard distance setting.
